Abhyanga Body Therapy

Abhyangha is a choreographed, warm oil, whole body therapy.  The strokes are rhythmic with a light pressure - with copious amounts of oil from the scalp to the soles of the feet with the intention of covering the body in the healing, grounding oil.

The rhythmic nature helps the mind to relax and enter into a more meditative state.

The Details:

  • Abhyanga is offered in person in Belfast, Maine.

  • The therapy is done without clothing on a heated massage table with a towel for modesty.

  • The purpose of the therapy is NOT to manipulate muscles and "massage" but cover the body in the herbal oil and work the oil into the body.  The oil is the healer.

  • At the end of the therapy I use warm towels to wipe away the excess oil from your body.  This part is divine.

  • When the therapy is done, your hair will be oily.  I recommend bringing a hat, bandana or scarf that you don't mind getting oily to cover your head afterwards.

  • Abhyanga has the deepest impact when received regularly, that is one of the reasons that I offer a Sliding scale.

  • I believe in accessibility so I offer a sliding scale of

    $75- $100 per 60 minute session

    $125-$150 Per 90 Minute session
