Somatic Stress Release™

Would you like to feel more connected with your body and your life force? Would you like to learn how to holistically discharge stress, blocked emotions and body tension as well as free stagnant energy?

Somatic Stress Release™ is a system of techniques to help you learn how to enhance your capacity to identify internal responses to stressors, and mobilize that energy towards restoration and ease.

It will help you to connect to yourself on deeper levels, free stuck energy and complete stress response cycles creating more ease and flow in your body and life.

Stress is not bad. That’s right, I said it.

Stress is an adaptation to a stimulus.

It is a biological response to a trigger in the environment.

The problem is not with the stress response itself but with chronic stress. The ever present stress that does not get completed in the body.

The stress that continues to circulate as cortisol, or live in the tissues as tension, that gets stuck in the body as unprocessed emotion.

What happens in a session?

Each session will unfold differently as we are working with what is currently present in the body (note that what is currently present may be from past events or old stories)

We will begin by arriving in the space together, either in person or online.

We will have some dialogue to discover what you want to work on in the session.

And then we will dive in, using sensations in the body as cues to light the pathway of discovery.

A session may be active or quiet and meditative or both depending on what your body/mind/spirit and nervous system need in the moment.

As a practitioner, I am tuning into your body and nervous system (and my intuition) to offer tools (movement, breath, sound, etc) to help move what needs to be moved, to help acknowldege parts of yourself that need to be heard, to create more resilience, flow and integration in the body/mind/spirit and nervous system.

*I’d like to note here that I am not a mental health practitioner. I am a Somatic Stress Release Practitioner, an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and a Resilience Coach.

Where therapists work with trauma directly, I work with the current effects you experience from trauma and stress.

I help you with the current patterns and stuck energy; therapists help you process the event. If you’re struggling with a particular trauma or event and are seeking to resolve that, I recommend finding a licensed somatic therapist instead.
